Dear Collectors,

LINX - Internet Solutions & Services based in Athens, Greece was also an issuer of Prepaid International Calling Cards. Over the years LINX has issued and circulated Calling Cards using MCI Worldcom and other providers as the carrier.

LINX firstly (year 2000) issued 2 types of cards and each type had 2 different face value types.

Due to changes in the telecoms market in Greece the company changed all cards and reissued a new number of cards.

Facts about these very rare cards / why collectible :

  • The cards are the hard paper type with the scratch area on the back. (Early technology and know how)


  • These are the very first cards ever issued by LINX. Cards were issued in June 2000


  • Very limited edition :


    • ATLAS 500 units - Total number issued 7000 pieces.
    ATLAS 1000 units - Total number issued 1400 pieces.
    FAR EAST 425 units - Total number issued 7000 pieces.
    FAR EAST 850 units - Total number issued 1400 pieces.

  • The Greek telecoms market was fully deregulated on 1/1/2001. Prepaid cards were issued before that time (legal for this type of communications) by a very few companies. LINX was one of those few companies, so the cards are between the few first ones ever issued in Greece. Additonally the "OLD" cards were using an International Toll Free number to make the connection while the "New" ones were using a National Toll Free number.


  • Greece's currency was changed from Greek Drachma to EURO on 1/1/2002. The face value on the "OLD" cards was in Greek Drachmas (a currency that does not exist any more).


  • Due to Greece's deregulation of telecoms the phone numbers changed all over the country (an intermediate number was used to achieve the change) in order to accommodate the new telecom companies that came into the market. LINX cards had the "OLD" telephone number and some had the "INTERMEDIATE" number printed on them.



    • ATTENTION : All LINX cards shown above have EXPIRED and cannot be used to make telephone calls. These cards are now only collectors' items.
